How to Setup

1. Unpacking and Powering On

  • Remove the Apple HomePod, power cable, and documentation from the packaging.
  • Place the HomePod on a stable surface with at least 15 cm of free space around it for optimal sound distribution.
  • Connect the HomePod to power using the included cable.
  • The device will power on automatically and display a pulsing white light on the top panel.

2. Initial Configuration

  1. Bring your iPhone or iPad close to the HomePod.
  2. A setup prompt will automatically appear on your device.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to:
    • Select the room where the HomePod is located
    • Enable Siri (optional)
    • Connect to your Wi-Fi network
    • Transfer Apple ID and settings
  1. Wait until the HomePod confirms configuration completion with a sound cue.

Important Note: Do not change core system settings or attempt to modify the HomePod’s default owner profile beyond your own Apple ID sign-in.

3. Using the HomePod

  • Connect your Apple ID to access Apple Music, HomeKit controls, and personal requests.
  • Use Siri for voice commands or tap the top surface for manual playback controls.
  • The HomePod automatically adapts to the room through dynamic audio calibration.

Important Note: Sign out your Apple ID / remove the home pod from your HomeKit App before returning the device to avoid a €60 refurbishing fee.

Before returning your rental device, the HomePod must be fully reset.

Reset — Using the Physical Reset Button

  1. Unplug the HomePod.
  2. Wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in.
  3. Wait another 10 seconds until the top light turns red.
  4. Touch and hold the top surface.
  5. Keep holding until:
    • You hear three beeps
    • Siri announces the device is about to reset
  1. Release your finger only after confirmation.

How to Return

1. Remove Personal Data

  • Ensure the HomePod has been factory reset (mandatory).
  • Sign out of your Apple ID if still connected.
  • Validate the device shows no personal settings when powered on.

2. Clean and Repack
