How do I withdraw my security deposit?
How to Withdraw Your Security Deposit
The security deposit will be available for withdrawal after your order is returned and our technician team verifies its condition. This process may take up to 2 business days depending on the order size.
To withdraw your deposit:
- Log in to your account.
- Click the 'Withdraw' button at the top of your account page: https://my.monis.rent/orders.
- Refunds will be processed to the original payment method and may take 5-10 working days to reflect, depending on your bank.

How is my security deposit refunded?
Monis uses Stripe as its payment processor. This means that your original payment and your security deposit refund are processed securely through Stripe and the banking/card networks.
For security reasons, a refund is always sent back through the original payment method used for the security deposit.
We cannot manually send the refund to a different credit card, debit card, or bank account.
After the refund has been processed, it normally takes 5–10 business days to appear in your account. The exact timing depends on your bank or card issuer.
What if my card has expired, been replaced, or has a different card number?
Usually, this is not a problem.
If the card you originally used has since:
- expired,
- been replaced,
- been cancelled,
- been reported lost or stolen, or
- received a new card number
the refund is still sent to the original card transaction.
In most cases, your bank automatically recognizes the relationship between the old card and your new or replacement card and redirects the refund accordingly.
If no replacement card exists, the bank will usually credit the refund directly to the bank account associated with the original card.
You normally do not need to update your card details with Monis for the refund to arrive.
Can you refund my deposit to another card or bank account?
No.
Card refunds must be returned through the original payment transaction. We cannot select another card or manually change the destination of a Stripe card refund.
Even if you have added a new card to your Monis account, the refund will still be connected to the card that was used for the original security deposit payment.
Your bank is responsible for redirecting the refund if your original card has subsequently been replaced.
I don't see a refund on my bank statement
Sometimes a refund does not appear as a separate transaction.
If the refund is processed shortly after the original payment, your bank may process it as a reversal. In this case, the original payment may simply disappear from your statement instead of showing a separate refund.
For partial refunds, your bank may also adjust the amount of the original transaction instead of displaying a separate refund entry.
We therefore recommend checking both:
- whether a new refund transaction has appeared, and
- whether the original Monis transaction has disappeared or changed.
My refund has not arrived after 10 business days
Most refunds appear within 5–10 business days after they have been processed.
If more than 10 business days have passed and you still cannot locate the refund, please contact Monis Support.
We can check the refund status in Stripe and, where available, provide you with a refund reference number such as an ARN, STAN, or RRN.
Your bank can use this reference number to trace the refund through the card network.
When contacting us, please include the relevant order number so we can locate the payment quickly.
Important to know
The 5–10 business day processing period begins after the refund has been submitted, not when your rental equipment is returned.
The process is therefore:
Equipment returned → Equipment inspected → Deposit becomes withdrawable → You click Withdraw → Refund is processed → Bank credits your account
Weekends and public holidays may also affect your bank's processing time.
