# Shure MV7 Podcast Microphone Kit setup guide


#### 1. Unpacking and Setup

* Remove the microphone, tripod, USB cable, and XLR to 3.5mm Klinke cable from the box.
* Assemble the tripod by attaching the microphone securely. Place it on a flat, stable surface.
* Connect the microphone to your computer via **USB** or use the **XLR to 3.5mm Klinke cable** for analog devices.
* Ensure the microphone is oriented correctly, with the **front facing you** for optimal audio quality.

#### 2. Installation and Configuration

* **USB Setup:** Plug the microphone into your computer using the USB cable; it will be automatically detected.
* **XLR Setup:** Use the XLR to 3.5mm Klinke cable to connect the microphone to compatible audio devices.
* **ShurePlus MOTIV App:** Download the app from **[Shure's website](https://www.shure.com/)** to adjust settings like gain, EQ, and compression.

#### 3. Using the Microphone

* Speak directly into the front of the microphone, maintaining a distance of **6–12 inches** for clear audio.
* Avoid blocking or covering the microphone grille during use.

### How to Return

#### 1. Clean and Pack

* Wipe the microphone and tripod with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust or fingerprints.
* Detach all cables and accessories.
* Pack the microphone, tripod, and all accessories securely in the original packaging.

### Important Notes

* **Missing Accessories:** Ensure all original items, including the tripod and cables, are returned to avoid extra charges.
* **Do Not Remove Labels:** Keep all rental labels and markings intact.
* **Report Damage:** Notify us immediately if the microphone or accessories are damaged or malfunctioning. Unauthorized repairs are not allowed.
